Hair Growth & Hair-Thinning Management

RecoSMA® is LINLINE’s non-thermal, barrier-sparing field therapy designed to improve the scalp (and beard) environment that supports hair growth. Delivered on the MULTILINE™ base unit with the Er:YAG 2.94 µm + SMA module, it uses thousands of micro-beams at the surface to trigger deep, acoustic micro-stimulation in the dermis—aimed at better microcirculation, matrix quality, and scalp comfort.

Clinical positioning: an adjunct to standard medical care for hair loss, provided under physician supervision.

Who it’s for

  • Androgenetic alopecia (men & women): early–moderate thinning where goals are density/quality improvement and slowing progression.
  • Diffuse shedding / telogen bias: after medical work-up, as an adjunct to topical/systemic therapy.
  • Alopecia areata (including beard patches/alopecia barbae): adjunct only in limited, dermatology-managed disease to support the skin environment around immune-modulating care.
  • Beard hair loss: patchy areas of the beard that would benefit from local field support.

How it works

  • The SMA module splits the Er:YAG beam into micro-beams (≤ 50 µm).
  • Surface micro-events launch acoustic waves that interfere in depth within the dermis—without heating—to encourage regenerative signaling, support local perfusion, and soften perifollicular rigidity that can accompany thinning.

What to expect (patient view)

  • Comfortable sessions with a brief warmth/tingle; typically no anaesthesia.
  • Minimal downtime: mild pinkness/tightness for 1–3 days; you can return to routine the same day.
  • Over the program, many patients report less shedding, healthier scalp (often less dandruff), and visible new growth; in darker phototypes, new hairs may appear black.

Treatment course (experience-based schedule)

  • Energy: ~2.6–2.8 J/cm² (deep setting).
  • Total: 6-8 sessions.
  • Cadence:
    • Induction: 3 sessions every 15 days
    • Planned gap: 45–60 days (important—prevents scalp oversensitivity)
    • Consolidation: 3 sessions, at 1-month intervals

The mid-course gap is a key part of tolerance; avoid compressing the schedule.

Combination care

RecoSMA® complements—does not replace—evidence-based treatments. Your doctor may maintain or start topical minoxidil, anti-androgens/5-alpha-reductase inhibitors when appropriate, nutritional correction, and dermatology-directed therapy for alopecia areata.

Areas treated

  • Scalp: thinning crowns, part lines, frontal zones.
  • Beard: patchy alopecia barbae (use beard-friendly parameters and shielding around lips/mucosa).

Safety & aftercare

  • Avoid treatment on infected or eczematous skin.
  • Post-care for 48–72 h: gentle cleansing, no harsh topicals, limit friction/heat styling (scalp) or alcohol aftershaves (beard).
  • Scarring alopecia (active): contraindicated for regrowth goals; consider only after quiescence for scar comfort/pliability.

Benefits at a glance

For patients

  • Adjunct option that targets the skin environment for hair.
  • Comfortable, no-incision, minimal-downtime sessions.
  • Reported improvements: reduced shedding, healthier scalp (often less dandruff), and visible new growth through the course.

For practitioners

  • Dermal field therapy (non-thermal) that’s easy to integrate on MULTILINE™.
  • Works on scalp and beard; phototype-inclusive with sensible parameter hygiene.
  • Clear program structure with a planned tolerance gap.

Key takeaway

RecoSMA® offers a barrier-sparing, non-thermal way to support hair-bearing skin—on the scalp and beard—by improving the underlying dermal environment
