Dermatology & Plastic Surgery: Benign Lesion Removal

LINLINE removes benign skin lesions with two complementary tools on the MULTILINE™ platform:
- Laser scalpel (Nd:YAP, long-pulse) for precise contact excision with immediate hemostasis—ideal for pedunculated or nodular lesions, deeper bases, or whenever you want a specimen for histology.
- Er:YAG ablation (2940 nm) for layer-by-layer, char-free vaporization and gentle contour “polishing” of superficial, flat, or sessile lesions—minimal thermal zone (≈20–50 µm) supports excellent cosmesis.
What we treat
Papillomas, soft fibromas, dermatofibromas, seborrheic keratoses, xanthelasma, warty horn, telangiectatic granuloma, epidermoid/sebaceous cysts, and HPV-related growths.
Why LINLINE’s method is different
- Two tools, one session: Combine hemostatic contact excision (Nd:YAP) with Er:YAG’s char-free surface refinement for optimal function and cosmesis.
- “Cold” ablation physics: you see what you remove in real time, without CO₂-style frosting.
- Smaller thermal footprint vs CO₂: Typical Er:YAG thermal effect ≈20–50 µm vs CO₂ 100–250 µm, aiding faster re-epithelialization and reducing scar risk.
How the procedure works
Laser scalpel excision (Nd:YAP, long-pulse)
- Contact technique with the fiber at a low angle; short activations trace the base; coagulation precedes vaporization, enabling bloodless dissection and an intact specimen when needed.
Er:YAG ablation (2940 nm)
- Scanning at 90° to the lesion; high energy density to achieve true photoablation (micro-explosions) rather than slow coagulation. Work layer-by-layer until the surface is even; optional defocused passes to blend edges. Expect minimal thermal spread.
Benefits & limitations
- Er:YAG → + “cold” ablation, tight depth control, low scar risk; – weaker hemostasis.
- Nd:YAP laser scalpel → + speed, immediate hemostasis, versatile contact cutting; – potential thermal injury if overdosed.
Key takeaway
On MULTILINE™, Nd:YAP long-pulse gives fast, blood-sparing contact excision (with specimen when needed), while Er:YAG provides precise ablation and cosmetic smoothing. Together they deliver efficient, safe benign-lesion removal with excellent aesthetic outcomes—fully aligned with LINLINE’s clinical protocols.
