Pinpoint Coagulation™ Technology for Pigmented Lesions

Pinpoint Coagulation™ is LINLINE’s selective method for treating epidermal and dermal hyperpigmentation with Q-switched nanosecond pulse trains (Ruby 694 nm and Alexandrite 755 nm). It’s engineered to coagulate melanin-rich cells only where pigment is concentrated, while sparing normally pigmented skin to minimize burns, scarring, and rebound pigmentation.

Pinpoint Coagulation™ Technology for Pigmented Lesions

How it works

Pulse trains, not single hits. Energy is delivered as optimised “packets” (trains) of nanosecond pulses. Each micro-pulse warms melanin granules just enough to start heat build-up without blasting surrounding tissue.

  • Between-granule hot spots. In hyperpigmented foci where melanin granules sit closer together, heat waves from neighbouring granules meet and sum, pushing temperature between the granules to a coagulative threshold across successive pulses. Areas with normal melanin density simply dissipate the heat and remain intact. This is the essence of pinpoint coagulation.
  • Selective by physics, not force. Short (1–10 ns) pulses cause a non-linear rise in melanin absorption, converting energy into heat and gentle acoustic waves that coagulate pigment-laden cells without mechanical tearing.

Why it’s safer than “brute-force” methods

  • Compared with ablative lasers: Removing pigment by vaporising tissue (CO₂/Er:YAG) risks depigmentation and scarring, especially for deeper lesions. Pinpoint Coagulation targets melanin clusters without ablation.
  • Compared with long-pulse/ IPL: Long thermal pulses or broad-band light spread heat to all chromophores, often under-treating deep pigment or provoking PIH at higher energies. Pinpoint Coagulation confines heat where melanin is densest.

Indications

  • Epidermal & dermal hypermelanosis: lentigines (solar/age spots), freckles, melasma/chloasma, post-inflammatory or post-traumatic hyperpigmentation, and select congenital lesions (e.g., “café-au-lait” macules; limited number).
  • Delivered on the MULTILINE™ platform with interchangeable Q-switched Ruby 694 nm and Alexandrite 755 nm emitters tailored for melanin targeting.

Why choose LINLINE’s Pinpoint Coagulation™

  • Selective: coagulates only melanin-rich cells; normal skin stays below coagulation threshold.
  • Effective for deeper lesions without ablation or mechanical injury.
  • Integrated platform: MULTILINE™ hosts Ruby/Alex Q-switched emitters with stable output and pre-programmed settings for reproducible results.
