Scar-Free Tattoo Removal (Deep Acoustic Wave™)

Deep Acoustic Wave™ (DAW) is LINLINE’s method for scar-free tattoo removal on the MULTILINE™ base unit. Instead of relying on a single, high-energy shot, DAW delivers nanosecond pulse-trains and uses a multi-wavelength palette (540, 694, 755, 1079 nm) to fragment ink layer-by-layer—opening a “dye-free gateway” so subsequent pulses reach deeper pigment with minimal trauma to skin.

Why DAW is different

  • Pulse-train physics, not single shots. Classic Q-switched methods use single pulses; DAW uses a sequence of nanosecond pulses where each pulse fragments the exposed layer so the next pulse penetrates deeper. This layer-by-layer approach helps clear dense, professional tattoos more efficiently and reduces thermal load on surrounding tissue.
  • Multi-wavelength selectivity for every color. On MULTILINE™, the clinician can switch to the optimal wavelength for each ink family—540 nm (warm reds/oranges), 694 nm (dark blues/greens), 755 nm (greens/teals/blues), 1079 nm (black/navy). The palette covers most multicolor designs.
  • Designed for scar-free outcomes. Nanosecond pulses generate photoacoustic effects that disrupt pigment while keeping heat diffusion short—minimizing collateral injury and helping preserve natural pigmentation.
  • Compared with other laser methods, DAW avoids overheating and mechanical skin injury linked to scarring. Pulse-trains with precise timing/power control enable deep action while keeping thermal/mechanical damage in check—a route to fewer sessions with lower PIH risk in suitable cases.

What a session is like

  • Feel: brief “snaps” as pulses pass; most clients tolerate DAW without anesthesia. Skin is not ablated; the goal is to act on ink, not healthy tissue.
  • Aftercare: you can usually resume normal activities immediately. Your clinician may suggest basic photoprotection to limit PIH risk while the skin settles.
  • Between sessions: fragmented particles are gradually cleared; you’ll see progressive lightening as treatment continues.

Practitioner essentials

  • Emitters & wavelengths (MULTILINE™): Nd:YAP/KTP 540/1079 nm, Ruby 694 nm, Alexandrite 755 nm (all Q-switched). This spread lets you match ink absorption and depth.
  • Pulse format: nanosecond pulses delivered in trains (timing and power adjusted for color/density)—enables layer-by-layer fragmentation and deeper reach.
  • Typical parameters (ranges): 3–6/8 mm spots; 4–30 J/cm² by color & zone; repetition up to ~5–10 Hz (see device presets).

Indications & areas

  • Professional & amateur tattoos, monochrome or multicolor, on body and face (observe standard safety for periorbital regions).
  • Black/navy outlines respond especially well to 1079 nm; greens/teals/blues to 755/694 nm; reds/oranges to 540 nm.

Results & course planning

  • Faster clearance by design. DAW’s layer-by-layer fragmentation is specifically described as leading to faster tattoo removal than other methods.
  • Sessions: number and spacing depend on ink density, colors, depth, location (professional vs amateur). Expect a series; visible lightening after each visit.
  • Goal: complete or near-complete clearance with preserved skin texture and natural pigmentation.

Benefits at a glance

For patients

  • Scar-free intent: method is designed to remove ink without harming skin, preserving texture and natural color.
  • Fewer, gentler passes: pulse-train strategy aims for faster clearance with less trauma.
  • Color-smart: multiple wavelengths mean better matching to your tattoo’s palette.

For practitioners

  • Controllable selectivity: adjust pulse timing/power and wavelength per color/depth.
  • Platform simplicity: run all DAW wavelengths on one MULTILINE™ base unit; switch emitters as needed.
  • Patient-friendly profile: the low scarring risk profile of Q-switched lasers with the efficiency of layer-by-layer fragmentation.

Key takeaway

Deep Acoustic Wave™ uses nanosecond pulse-trains and color-matched wavelengths to break ink layer-by-layer, creating a dye-free pathway to deeper pigment while protecting skin—a modern route to scar-free tattoo removal on the MULTILINE™ platform.
